Mark Edward Fischbach, recognized as Markiplier was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 28, 1989, to a German-American military officer father and a Korean mother. The family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio. Fischbach pursued a biomedical engineering program at the University of Cincinnati but encountered personal challenges in 2012, such as health issues and financial difficulties, prompting a change in his career trajectory. He is not religious and has an older sibling, Thomas, who is renowned for the webcomic “Twokinds.” During his early years, Fischbach forged enduring friendships with Wade Barnes and Bob Muyskens.
