Antonio Neri (Businessman) Biography

An Argentinian-Italian-American businessman Antonio Neri was born in Argentina on May 10, 1967. His parents originated from Sicily, Italy, and had immigrated to Argentina. Neri’s fascination with electronics and technology developed during his adolescent years.

At the age of 15, he embarked on a journey of military education and training, serving as an engineering apprentice within the Argentine Navy. His duties encompassed the repair of radar and sonar systems on naval vessels, and he concurrently pursued his engineering studies at both the Escuela Nacional de Educación Técnica and the National Technological University.

Furthermore, alongside his engineering endeavors, Neri dedicated a significant span of nine years to the pursuit of art studies in Argentina. His proficiency in this realm ultimately led him to assume the role of an art instructor, with a specific focus on drawing and painting.

Antonio Neri’s professional journey began by stepping beyond Argentina’s borders, where he embarked on a career with a small information technology company based in Italy. Subsequently, his career path led him to the renowned Hewlett-Packard (HP) corporation. His tenure with HP commenced in 1995, at their customer service department located in Amsterdam.

What’s particularly remarkable is that within just six months, his unwavering dedication and expertise led to a well-deserved promotion to the position of support engineer. As time progressed, Neri continued his upward trajectory, taking on pivotal roles, including those of education manager, call center manager, and services manager for the European region.

In 1997, Neri took a significant step by relocating to Boise, Idaho, where he assumed the crucial role of global director for HP’s imaging and printing services division. His professional journey persisted, and in 2004, he made a strategic move to Houston, Texas, to contribute to HP’s PC services business. His career within the organization culminated in 2011 when he ascended to the leadership position of the technology services division.

Before the division of HP into Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and HP Inc. in 2015, Antonio Neri held the esteemed position of Senior Vice President and General Manager, overseeing the company’s server and networking units.

Notably, he also temporarily assumed the responsibilities of Interim Chief Sales Officer. The pinnacle of his remarkable career at HPE arrived in February 2018, as he succeeded Meg Whitman to become the company’s inaugural Latino Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His leadership played a pivotal role in shaping HPE’s distinct identity during its separation from HP.
